If you are a child or young person with a Child Protection Plan, or with an upcoming initial Child Protection Conference, you can access advocacy support from Speak Up.
Advocacy support could help you to:
- have your voice heard within decision making and planning, in line with your rights
- request information to help you understand why you have a Child Protection Plan
- be at the centre of your support from services
- understand your rights and entitlements
- challenge decisions or plans that you disagree with or are not happy with
- prepare for child protection meetings
- attend your child protection meetings; or an advocate can attend on your behalf if you don’t wish to attend - at your meetings your advocate's job is to represent your views
See our introduction to advocacy, to find out if advocacy may be helpful for you.
