The Children in Care Council and Care Leavers' Forum are ways in which which care experienced young people, looked after by City of York Council can have a say about things that really matter and affect your lives.
Whether you live with a foster carer, in a residential home or whether you live in or out of York, your ideas can make a big difference.
We're always looking for new ways to hear from care experienced people, so if you have an idea about how we can expand our participation opportunities let us know.
If you'd like more information on how to get involved, please contact Michelle Howlett on telephone: 07770 704756, or email: [email protected].
There are a number of ways in which you can get involved:
you can get involved in person by joining our monthly meetings.
Join the Show Me That I Matter Facebook group, where you can get involved and share your views on the issues we are consulting on.
If you don't want to attend the groups you can still have your say by speaking to one of our Corporate Parenting Advisors.
We know not everybody wants to get involved all the time, and that is OK.
One off consultation opportunities enable you to pick and choose which consultations you get involved with. Speak Up will get in touch with you when these opportunities come up to see if you would like to be involved.
Speak Up facilitates a number of events throughout the year that combine participation with social events such as Care Day and an event during care leavers week.
